Celebrating Native American Heritage Month with Cheyanne Symone
November is Native American Heritage Month, and as the founder of Cheyanne Symone, it’s a special time for me to reflect on my roots, celebrate my heritage, and share what this journey means to me and the Cheyanne Symone family. My name is Brittany C. Turner, and I’m a proud member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe from Hollister, North Carolina. I started Cheyanne Symone with the dream of bringing Native beadwork and artistry to the forefront of American fashion in a way that respects tradition, empowers Indigenous voices, and celebrates the elegance of our culture.

Honoring Heritage Through Craft
For me, jewelry has always been more than just an accessory; it’s a way to connect with my heritage and honor my ancestors. I grew up admiring my great grandmother, Loraine Anstead, who embodied elegance and strength. Her influence, along with the stories and traditions she passed down, continues to inspire me every day. At Cheyanne Symone, each piece of jewelry we create tells a story—one of resilience, beauty, and cultural pride.
Our designs are based on traditional beadwork techniques, but with a modern, minimalist twist that makes them wearable for anyone, anywhere. We’re sharing a piece of Native heritage with every customer, hoping they feel connected to something meaningful and lasting.
Empowering Indigenous Communities
One of my greatest joys in building Cheyanne Symone has been working alongside an amazing team of Indigenous women and non-binary artisans. I’m deeply committed to providing a fair and nurturing workplace where we all thrive creatively and financially. Supporting each other is at the heart of our mission, and we extend that support to Native communities through fair wages, collaborative work, and by giving back to causes that matter to us, like Indigenous women’s rights and environmental stewardship.
Sustainability is a core part of who we are. Like so many Native traditions, we believe in taking only what we need and respecting the earth in our process. We use eco-friendly materials and follow slow fashion practices that honor both the land and the craft.
Bringing Native Heritage to the Mainstream
Cheyanne Symone is more than a jewelry brand; it’s a movement. Native American Heritage Month reminds me why I started this company in the first place—to see Native artistry and beadwork appreciated in the mainstream and to create space for Indigenous voices in American fashion. Representation matters. When you wear Cheyanne Symone, you’re part of that vision, helping to shift fashion toward inclusivity, cultural pride, and diversity.
